Dear everyone,
The Mid-autumn Festival charity trip by Free Hugs Vietnam will take place this Saturday, October 3, 2009. I would like to give you a brief plan for the event:
We will gather at the Cultural Center for the Youth, Number 4 Pham Ngoc Thach street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1 at 5:00 P.M (all vehicles will be parked here)
Then 2 groups will be formed, with the planned routes:
- Group 1: Thủ Thiêm Ferry -> Bến Thành Market -> the Municipal Theatre -> Đức Bà Church -> Con Rùa Lake
- Group 2: Tao Đàn Park -> Bến Thành Market -> -> the Municipal Theatre -> Đức Bà Church -> Con Rùa Lake
(*please be advised that the planned routes will be subject to changes based on changes in the traffic, weather, etc. Mainly we will be walking around to give gifts and talk to the less fortunate, so be sure that you feel comfortable with walking these planned routes)
- For the event to be successful, we suggest that each participant brings some stationery (books, stories, magazines that are suitable for children, not text + pens or pencils etc), and Mid-autumn lanterns so that we can give to people in need.
- This goal of the event is not to distribute the cakes, milk, and stationery to less unfortunate people and children, we will talk to them, ask them about their lives and work, etc to display our care and understanding.
- Last but not least, in order to capture the memorable experiences we encourage all members to bring their cameras to take pictures as well.
- The trip will start from 6:00 P.M and end at 9:00 P.M
