Hi all,

1) It’s been a while since our second member meetup. On behalf of Free Hugs Vietnam’s Management Board I would like to invite all of you to the third meetup next Sunday, 31/1/2010 at Hoa Huong Duong Bubble Tea, 136 Le Lai, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, starting from 2:00 P.M. sharp. In this important meetup, we will:

-Give a brief overview of all FHV’s activities in the year 2009
-Give certificates to active members who have made important contributions to FHV over the year
-Introduce our plans for the upcoming operational year.
and most importantly,
-Create an environment where members can get to know more about each other through out exciting ice-breaking activities.

2) One important change we have made to FHV’s structure is the allocation of members to different departments. There are 4 options available:

Human Resources: in charge of training and developing FHV’s members
Event: in charge of event planning and executing
PR & Marketing: in charge of doing PR & Marketing activities for FHV
Logistics: in charge of finding and contacting suppliers for each of FHV’s events

Upon receiving this email, each of you please click onto the link below and fill in all the details, including the department you would like to join. Please do so before the Sunday meetup.

3) One particular charity event FHV has been preparing for is the upcoming “Lunar New Year charity event for the less fortunate” scheduled to take place on Feb 6th and 7th, in which we will give gifts to poor and homeless people (coats, cakes, envelopes, etc). Donations are the major source of funding for this event, so we hope this meetup is the opportunity for all of you to donate.
If you can, please also invite your friends and others to donate to the following account:

Hi FHV members,
There were a full conference room of FHV members, supporters of the 3 teams and our honored guests. Many thanks to Vinagame and Vinapay for your generosity.

VinaGame
VinaPay

All the teams were very serious about their plans, which gets more and more detailed. The air was so breathtaking and the judges were really in trouble for the ranking. After a long and struggling competition, the judges finally found our winners, congratulation on the winning teams: DG541, Meo U, Magic Pocket!

However, we have to say, winning is not what the teams expect from the competition. Everyone wants the plans to come into actions! At FHV we are all working very hard, together with not just the winners but everyone who have the will to organize this event.

We will see you again soon, Doraemon :)

Hi all,

Up to now you guys must have been quite worried about the first round result of the event plan competition, right? Well, we are sorry for the 1 day delay in releasing the result. Because the number of plans submitted by the deadline exceeds our expectation, it took us more time to inspect your plans carefully in order to make the good decisions.
Thank you all for your interest and participation in Free Hugs Vietnam Event Plan Competition. You guys rock!

Generally, your plans show your great efforts. As the judges we found it of great pleasure to come across many creative ideas and interesting activities that you put into the plans. However, we have to announce that only 3 teams will be shortlisted for the second and final ground. We would like to send our greatest congratulations to the following teams:

  • Team DG541
  • Team Mèo Ú
  • Team Magical Pocket

We would like to invite all 3 teams to attend a training workshop from 2pm – 4.30pm tomorrow (Saturday, 21.11.2009) at Vinapay representative office in Ho Chi Minh City (Number 7 Thăng Long, District Tân Bình, HCMC). There you will be given more instructions and advice for your next “battle”. Due to its importance, we highly recommend that you guys attend ^^

For the other teams, please don’t feel disappointed about the result. We would like to welcome you to the Presentation Day – Final Ground where the 3 above teams compete and you can learn more about their plans.

Again, thank you so much for your interest, participation and contribution in the competition!

    The whole gang

    Welcome to FHV!

A very good point this year is the weather. In Viet Nam it’s irritatingly likely to rain when we are going around having fun with lanterns, but today is different. It did rain a little, but the weather soon cleared up, which means none of us got wet, even though we have been going nonstop. And there are good reasons why we kept on going even as rains seemed to be coming…

It took quite sometime to gather around at Youth Cultural Center, because there were so many of us. Apart from FHV members there were also volunteers from HOW, so it was a real crowd. From 5pm, our volunteers started to stick FHV logo onto their shirts and get to know each other (by the way, FHV T-shirts are coming real soon). Dozens of carton boxes were prepared, ready to carry presents to unlucky children near the center of Ho Chi Minh city. Around 100 people were divided into two groups, starting from Youth Cultural Center to various spots such as the Municipal Theater, Turtle Lake, Notre Dame Cathedral, Bến Thành Market. Throughout the trip, we pay special attention to children that we were passing by…

Group 1 headed from Youth Cultural Center towards Notre Dame Cathedral. Group 2 headed from Youth Cultural Center towards Turtle Lake. We each learnt different lessons on the way…

Here are some pictures from our photographers:
